FAQ Currently it seems that the usual questions referring to our band name accumulate. We decided to add this FAQ section to our page to give you some answers and of course we can also expand the list. Just drop us a line! So if you're interested in Kai's size of shoe or want to know why Richie's eyes have a life on their own when his alcohol level rises...don't hesitate to ask whatever you want! Let us begin with the typical problems everybody seems to have with our name: 1. Pronounciation LANFEAR is pronounced like that::  For non phoneticians: Pronounce the "a" in "lan" like the "a" in "band" and fear...well...you're right: fear 2. Interpretation NO, we definitely don't fear "local area networks"! If this was the case, we would have called the band LAN-fear. When we founded the band in 1993, nobody in the world had thoughts in this direction and of course around that time not every 3-year old guy knew what a local area network is. Initially we found the "do you also fear W-LAN?" gag quite amusing, but be sure: It actually became boring over the years! 3. The Wheel of Time YES, the name is taken from Robert Jordan's "The Wheel of Time" books, but in fact we only borrowed the name of one of the characters. There's no single Lanfear-song which deals with the topics or plots described in the books. We're very sorry for that, of course! 4. Surname We know that there're lots of people with the surname Lanfear - congratulations, we love you all! |
